Middle School

• The Abundant Life Christian Academy middle school program has been created for sixth through eighth grades and exists to provide instruction to meet the educational needs of early adolescent students.



• Middle schoolers have endless energy that must be channeled productively to enhance the development of positive character traits. The key concepts of respect and responsibility are stressed throughout our academic and athletic programs. Students are encouraged to actively participate in a variety of extracurricular activities. Our athletic program emphasizes commitment to teamwork, fair play and sportsmanship.



• The curriculum and other components of the program are designed to address all strands of development in a rigorous, varied and exciting manner. Emphasis is placed on learning the basic skills or tools of each discipline as well as skills of analysis, evaluation, decision making, and interpersonal relationships.

Art
Art is the subject that truly allows the children to freely express themselves using his God given talents. The Bible and God's creation will be a central focus as the children paint, draw, and color.

Computers
Students in 6th - 8th grades will have computers in their classroom. Basic computer skills will be taught to all students. Personal computer time is provided on a regular basis. Also, students in grades 6th - 8th will have weekly computer classes.

Library
Each student will have the opportunity to use the library during scheduled open library times. The students may check out books on their specific library day. The fine for overdue books is 10 cents per day; overdue days include weekend days.

Music
Music theory and appreciation is taught in our music classes to all students of ALCA. Students will participate in musical productions, competitions, Middle School Honor Choir, and instrumental classes, as well as use their voices for praise and worship.

Physical Education
Physical education is required for all grade levels. Grades 6-8 will wear the school P.E. uniform. It can be purchased through Sunshine Uniforms. If you child has an injury and cannot participate, we must have a doctor's note and your child will be required to do a written assignment for that day's grade.

Spanish
These classes are scheduled as a part of the school's academic requirements. Middle school students receive instruction. Early instruction can set the foundation for further language requirements on the secondary level.
